The completion of the Shitochi project came in 2016 with the funding of this project in 2 phases.
In the first Phase a group of 11 households each received a female goat. Two male goats were funded to be shared for breeding purposes. With Phase 2 the funding of 11 more families was done later in the year. Thus a total 22 female goats and 4 male goats were funded for 22 families. A goat manager was also funded to oversee the health and welfare of all 26 of the goats in the project as well as all the newborn goats in 2016-18.
